Idea and Mission
Organizing committee of the International Congress of Belarusian Studies is proud to announce the establishment of the annual award for best publication in the field of social sciences and humanities.
The award aims to mark the achievements of researchers in social sciences and humanities during the year and enhance the quality of scholarly work.
We call upon the authors and representatives of academic community to nominate significant results of scholarly work and thus to promote them and award their authors.
Nominations can be sent to the email: [email protected] till 20 February 2013.
The award ceremony will be held at the Third International Congress of Belarusian Studies, which will take place on 11-13 October, 2013.
Nominations
The award is announced in three nominations:
Social sciences: political science, sociology.
Humanities: philosophy, philology, linguistics, art studies.
History.
Publications in law and economics are accepted only if they present interdisciplinary study or focus on problems of social sciences and humanities.
Participants can nominate their own publications as well as publications of other authors.
Procedure
Expert council shall choose the winner of the award. The council shall be made of academics from Belarus and other countries (no less than 11 experts for each nomination).
The first award will be given for works which were published in 2011-2012. General guidelines for application: text of a minimum of 20 thousand characters (academic article, monograph, or other academic form of presentation of studies). The text should be written by one author, or by several authors provided that it was edited by one person.
Competition results will be announced in June 2013.
