Organising committee of the International Congress of Belarusian Studies is proud to announce the establishment of a new award for the best academic publication on Belarus-related problems for foreign researchers in social sciences and humanities.
Unlike the Award for the Best Academic Publication, which is given since 2013, this award is established to select those works which were created by authors of non-Belarusian origin, and who never lived or worked in Belarus. The award aims to mark foreign studies which made a significant contribution to development of knowledge on Belarus worldwide.
In 2015 only monographs (books) written in English or Russian in 2013-2014 are accepted for nomination. Please submit your proposals to [email protected] until 15 May 2015.
In future the competitions for Polish and German language publications will be held, though with a lower frequency.
Composition of the expert council
The award ceremony will take place at the Fifth International Congress of Belarusian Studies (2-4 October 2015). The award is honourable and does not carry a monetary prize.
